Top 25-year-old star wants £200,000-a-week deal with Chelsea – report
Chelsea have put contract talks with Thibaut Courtois on hold, according to reports

Chelsea have put contract talks with Thibaut Courtois on hold because he wants his new deal to be worth £200,000 a week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Courtois, who is believed to currently earn around £90,000 a week, wants to be placed at the same level as the likes of Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
The same report states that Chelsea are “hopeful” that they will be able to come to an agreement with Courtois before the start of next season, despite talks currently being on hold.
The 25-year-old Belgian goalkeeper is due to report back to Chelsea for pre-season training in July, when the Blues are said to be ready to re-open talks with the shot-stopper over a new deal.
Courtois’ current contract with Chelsea is believed to expire in the summer of 2019.
The goalkeeper has established himself as one of the world’s top talents in that position at Chelsea and won the Golden Glove award last season as he helped the Blues win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.
