Chelsea star wants to move to Real Madrid, claims Guillem Balague
The La Liga expert reveals that Thibaut Courtois wants to swap Chelsea for Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois wants to swap Chelsea for Real Madrid, according to Guillem Balague.
The defending Premier League champions appear to be facing a battle to keep the shot stopper at the west London side.
Indeed, Courtois has 18 months left on his current Chelsea deal but hasn’t signed a new deal with the title holders.
La Liga giants Real Madrid have been regularly linked with a move to sign the Belgian shot stopper over the past 12 months.
Zinedine Zidane is thought to be keen to replace Keylor Navas, with Courtois on his list of potential signings.
La Liga expert Balague confirmed that Courtois is interested in a potential switch to the Champions League holders.
“Real Madrid want to replace both goalkeepers… Interestingly to keep an eye on,” Balague told Sky Sports.
“Courtois is another situation they are monitoring closely. Courtois wants to go to Real Madrid. Real Madrid want Courtois. Chelsea want a deal done now for next summer. Real Madrid are saying no. Chelsea or Courtois may force the hand of Real Madrid.”
Courtois has won two Premier League titles in three seasons at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
Chelsea sent Courtois on a season-long loan to Atletico Madrid betwee 2011 and 2014 before he returned to Stamford Bridge.
