Chelsea out to make 22-year-old attacker their first January signing – report
Chelsea want to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco in January and could offer Michy Batshuayi as part of the deal, say reports
Chelsea are lining up a move to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco – and could offer Michy Batshuayi as part of the deal, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the west London side are keen in landing the 22-year-old attacker, who was heavily linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool FC in the summer transfer window.
The same report says that Chelsea are willing to put Batshuayi as part of the deal on loan in a bid to get it over the line in January.
The same story says that the deal is being “driven” by former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo, who now has a similar role at Lemar’s club Monaco.
It is also claimed that Liverpool FC are still keen on signing Lemar but Chelsea want to get the deal done in January, which gives them the “edge” over the Reds.
Chelsea are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
The Blues were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer transfer window as they ended up signing six players ahead of Antonio Conte’s second season in charge.
