Chelsea to open talks about signing 22-year-old this week – report
Chelsea are lining up a £40m bid to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco this summer, say reports
Chelsea are set to begin talks with Monaco about the transfer of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues are set to ramp up their attempts to sign Bakayoko in the coming days, having already held talks with the 22-year-old’s representatives about a possible move.
The same story claims that Bakayoko’s representatives have also held talks with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, but that a move to the Ligue 1 side is unlikely.
The article says Chelsea are ready to table a £40m offer for Bakayoko and that the newly-crowned Premier League campaigns are considered as the “favourites” to sign the midfielder this summer.
Chelsea are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Antonio Conte looks to prepare his side for a return to the Champions League next season.
The Blues are still bidding to end the season on a high by beating Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday to clinch a domestic double.
