Chelsea transfers: Atletico Madrid ponder Juan Mata loan deal
Chelsea transfers: Atletico Madrid are keen on signing Juan Mata on a one-year loan deal, according to reports in Spain

Atletico Madrid are keen on signing Juan Mata on a one-year loan deal from Chelsea, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Radio Marca reported on Sunday that an official from the Spanish club has travelled to London to open talks with Chelsea for the player, who they consider an ideal replacement for unsettled striker Adrián.
Club sources have confirmed to AS that they are interested in Mata and Ajax’s Christian Eriksen as potential replacements should Adrián leave the Calderón this summer.
Mata, 25, started Chelsea’s league opener against Hull City on the substitutes’ bench and played just 64 minutes of the team’s second outing of the new season against Aston Villa.
The Spain international’s situation has been further put into doubt by Chelsea’s announcement today that they have landed Willian on a £30m deal from Anzhi.
Mata currently takes home a salary of just under €4m a year – a figure which is way beyond Atletico’s budget but the Rojiblancos hope to find a solution to suit all parties.
Adrián, meanwhile, looks set to move on with Roma, hoping that the Rojiblancos will lower their €15m asking price for the Asturian striker.
