Chelsea transfers: Bayern Munich play down reports linking the Champions League holders with Blues defender David Luiz

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists Bayern Munich aren’t interested in signing Chelsea defender David Luiz.
The Brazil international has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Chelsea side this season as Jose Mourinho continues to rotate his squad.

The 26-year-old has only started eight of Chelsea’s 20 Premier League games this season, and the centre-half has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Bayern.
However the German side’s chairman Rummenigge believes Pep Guardiola has sufficient depth at centre-half, pointing to injured defender Holger Badstuber.
“There’s always lots of speculation and it’s extreme in England, but I can say for certain that he is not an issue for us,” said Rummenigge.
“I personally hope that Holger Badstuber comes back (from injury). That would be a new arrival who would do Bayern a lot of good.
“He’s a great lad and an important player for us.”
Luiz has scored 12 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions since joining Chelsea in a big-money deal from Benfica in 2010.
