Chelsea transfers: Frank Lampard says his Blues future ‘looks good’
Chelsea transfers: Frank Lampard says that he hopes to stay at the club beyond the summer after helping Blues win Europa League

Frank Lampard looks set to extend his Chelsea career by at least another season after the midfielder said his chances of signing a new contract “look good” following the Blues’ Europa League final triumph over Benfica.
The 34-year-old’s future has been a subject of relentless speculation in recent months, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
There were widespread reports on Wednesday morning that the England international was close to agreeing a one-year contract extension with the west Londoners.
And speaking after Chelsea’s dramatic 2-1 win on Wednesday, Lampard told ITV: “I really really hope so [that he will be at the club next season].
“We’re getting there. With the game tonight and a game coming up on Sunday we haven’t sat down completely about it. But I hope so and the club have been brilliant, so it looks good.”
Lampard became Chelsea’s all-time record goal-scorer last weekend after his brace at Aston Villa saw him eclipse Bobby Tambling’s tally with his 202nd and 203rd strikes for the club.
Goals from Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic helped Chelsea end the season on a high as they lifted the Europa League trophy for the first time.
