Chelsea transfers: Kevin De Bruyne would consider January exit
Chelsea transfers: Kevin De Bruyne would consider a move to Wolfsburg in the January transfer window, according to his agent
Kevin De Bruyne would consider a move to Wolfsburg in the January transfer window, according to the Chelsea midfielder’s agent.
The Belgium international’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks after falling out of favour under Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a switch to Wolfsburg over the last week after the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs said he would be interested in signing De Bruyne should he become available.
Now, De Bruyne’s representative Patrick de Koster says a January move away from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards for his client, who spent last season on loan to Werder Bremen.
“If Kevin has to find a new club in January, we’ll talk to Klaus Allofs,” De Koster told WAZ.
“I don’t think that Kevin training with the Under-21s is a punishment. This happens in England, and Kevin is not the only player.”
Speaking last week, Wolfsburg chief Allofs said: “We, as a club, have given our signal of interest in the services of Kevin De Bruyne. This was done over the summer when it became obvious that he would be returning to Chelsea.
“Kevin de Bruyne is no first-team regular at this point in time. We will definitely consider what is going on with him.”
