Chelsea transfers: Jose Mourinho says he doesn't expect to sign a striker in the January window

Jose Mourinho says he doesn’t expect Chelsea to sign a striker in the January transfer window.
The Blues have already snapped up Nemanja Matic in a £21m deal from Benfica, whilst also agreeing an £11m deal with Basel to sign Mohamed Salah, pending a medical and finalising personal terms.
The most important thing for us is not today. The most important thing for us is the future

Chelsea, who have sold Kevin De Bruyne and Juan Mata this month, have been heavily linked with a host of strikers as Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o continue to fail to impress on a regular basis.
However, Mourinho vowed that he would not sign a striker in the short-term despite Chelsea’s critics claiming that they need a top-quality player of the likes of Sergio Aguero or Luis Suarez to win the title this season.
Asked whether Chelsea made the right decision to send Romelu Lukaku, who has scored nine Premier League goals this term, on loan to Everton, Mourinho replied: “We know what we are doing.
“That’s the only thing I can say.”
He continued: “I know people can think what we need is a striker to score 30 goals like Aguero or Suarez, but as I said before, the most important thing for us is not today. The most important thing for us is the future and to do the right thing.”
