Chelsea transfers: No Blues offer for Fredy Guarin, says agent

Fredy Guarin has not received “an offer” from Premier League title contenders Chelsea, according to the Inter Milan midfielder’s agent.

The tenacious Inter midfielder has been heavily linked with a switch to Spurs after a mixed first season at San Siro.

The Colombia scored four goals in 21 Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri following an €11m (£9.3m) switch from Porto last summer.

Guarin’s agent Marcelo Ferreyra insisted that they never received an ‘offer’ from the west London side – and added that the midfielder is happy at Inter.

“It’s false. We have never got offers from Chelsea. We are happy at Inter, even if we don’t know what (club president) Erick Thohir’s intentions are,” said Ferreyra.

The Colombian’s agent added: “It’s time that Thohir, [coach, Walter] Mazzarri and the Inter’s leadership decide what to do with Fredy.

“They must let us know if they want to count on him and if so, we must discuss the new contract of which we already spoke about last June, but that has not arrived yet because of the club’s sale.

“It’s a heartbreaking thing not to know what Thohir wants, because he never talked to us. If Inter really needed to buy Guarin to can get reinforcements, it would be very sad for the fans because it would not be an ambitious project.

“However, we want to know what the president thinks about my client, because if he considers him the best player of the team he must be valued like this.”
