Chelsea transfers: Petr Cech wants ‘fantastic’ Frank Lampard to stay
Petr Cech admits he is hopeful that Chelsea will offer to extend Frank Lampard's contract beyond the end of this season

Petr Cech admits he is keen to see Frank Lampard extend his Chelsea career beyond the end of this season.
Lampard’s future has been a source of constant speculation in recent months following reports claiming that the Blues are not prepared to offer the midfielder a new contract.
The 34-year-old has been in fine form in the last few weeks, netting three goals in his last three appearances, including a brace in a man-of-the-match display at Everton.
And Cech has revealed that he still hopes the Blues will give the England international a new deal at Stamford Bridge following his recent impressive performances.
“There are still six months to go until the end of the season so we will see whether he stays or not. I’m not a director but if he keeps playing like that he will keep asking about the extension,” said Cech.
“The team has changed, his age has changed, but he’s still important for the team. He might not start every game or play every game but when he plays he plays well with his quality and experience, so this is something that is great to see.
“I’ve known him for a long time and he’s been a fantastic player for the club, and he continues to be so.”
