Charlie Nicholas states his prediction for Chelsea v Roma
Charlie Nicholas is tipping Chelsea to play out a 1-1 draw with Roma at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday

Charlie Nicholas is tipping Roma to hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of back to back losses in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte’s side were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon to follow up their disappointing 1-0 defeat by Manchester City before the international break.
The results have left Chelsea nine points behind leaders Manchester City after eight games of the new campaign as they look to try and defend their title this season.
Chelsea have made a strong start to their European campaign, with the Blues having won both of their opening group games against Atletico Madrid and Qarabag.
However, former Arsenal star Nicholas is tipping Conte’s men to drop points when they host the Italian side at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Nicholas wrote in his column for Sky Sports: “I think this is a really tough one for Chelsea. Roma are two points behind them in the group so it is also a dangerous situation in terms of winning the group, while Edin Dzeko is always a handful.
“I covered Chelsea on Soccer Saturday and I wasn’t impressed with them defensively. David Luiz was poor, Gary Cahill was all over the place and they just couldn’t get hold of Wilfried Zaha.
“Victor Moses went off at the weekend, N’Golo Kante is out, Danny Drinkwater is out, Willian was really poor on Saturday and I don’t know if Alvaro Morata will make it, so I’m going for a draw.”
Chelsea will then aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Watford at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The west London side are aiming to defend their title after winning the Premier League in style in Conte’s first campaign in charge last season.
