John Obi Mikel insists that he plans to stay at Chelsea despite the Blues’ signing of Cesc Fabregas this summer.
The west London club confirmed the arrival of the former Arsenal captain on a five-year deal earlier this month as Jose Mourinho opted to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season.

However, the 27-year-old Nigeria international insists that he is not concerned by the added competition for a starting spot at Stamford Bridge that Fabregas’ arrival is set to bring.
“I don’t have a problem with the signing of Cesc Fabregas,” Mikel told Goal. “We have played against each other a lot of times. We don’t play in the same position anyway.
“Chelsea are my home away from home, my second home. You never know what’s going to happen in football, but I’m very happy at Chelsea and I want to remain at Chelsea.
“I still have three years left on my contract and want to stay there. I want to congratulate Cesc with his transfer and I’m looking forward to playing with him.”
