Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois world’s best keeper, says Radamel Falcao
Former Atletico Madrid man Radamel Falcao says Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is the best shot stopper in the world
Thiabut Courtois is the world’s best goalkeeper, according to Radamel Falcao.
The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea, is the Belgium number one amid fierce competition from Liverpool shot stopper Simon Mignolet.
And Colombia international Falcao, who joined Monaco from Atletico in a big-money move this summer, named his former team-mate as the best goalkeeper in the world.
“He’s a good friend and the best goalkeeper in the world,” said Falcao.
Last month, Chelsea manager Mourinho insisted that he has no worries about the speculation over Courtois’ future because Chelsea are “in control” of the situation.
“It’s a very good problem because our goal is safe and financially we are also very safe because their [Petr Cech and Courtois] value in the market is the value of the best,” said Mourinho.
“We don’t have a problem – the teams with a problem are those without good goalkeepers. We have other guys in this moment giving us the security we need to allow Courtois to be on loan.
“In this moment I don’t think about [Courtois’ future]. It doesn’t worry me because our situation is fantastic and everything is under our control.
“We control the situation; not Barcelona, not Atletico. We control the situation, so that’s fine.
“We have the best goalkeeper in the world and the best young goalkeeper in the world. I don’t think many people will disagree with me.”
