Frank Lampard sends clear message to Chelsea about transfers
Frank Lampard tells Chelsea that they will need to bring in some more players in the summer transfer window

Frank Lampard has told Chelsea that they will need to bring in some more players this summer if they are to compete for major trophies.
The Blues suffered a disastrous start to their Premier League title defence on Saturday when they were beaten 3-2 by Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea endured an afternoon to forget as both Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were sent off for the west London side as the Premier League champions began the season with a shock defeat.
Much has been made of Chelsea’s summer transfer business so far, with the Blues having signed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
However, the Blues have also let a lot of players go, with Nemanja Matic having signed for Manchester United earlier this month.
And former Chelsea star Lampard feels that it’s clear that the Blues need to bring in some additional reinforcements before the close of the transfer window at the end of the month.
Speaking on Premier League Tonight on BT Sport on Saturday, Lampard said: “I think they’re short of numbers – that’s a fact.
“Pedro’s injured, Eden Hazard’s injured. The fact remains. they need a bigger squad and at the moment.
“The negative feeling coming out of Chelsea, compared the positive feeling at Manchester City and Manchester United, even Arsenal and Tottenham – it’s not working for anybody [at Chelsea] and you can see it on his face, how upset he [Antonio Conte] is at the moment.
“It’s a big frustration for him.”
Chelsea will now need to dust themselves down as they prepare for a tricky trip to Wembley to take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in their next Premier League game.
