Club fear striker has been tempted by transfer to Chelsea this month – report
West Ham are concerned that Andy Carroll has had his head turned by the prospect of a move to Chelsea, say reports

West Ham United are worried that Andy Carroll could have had his “head turned” by the prospect of a loan move to Chelsea this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the east London side have been offered a swap deal by Chelsea which would see Michy Batshuayi go the other way and move to the London Stadium until the end of the current campaign.
The same report says that West Ham would much prefer to do a “straight cash” deal to sell 29-year-old striker to the Blues this month.
The same article claims that Chelsea have been on the lookout for a new striker this month and have also targeted Belgian forward Christian Benteke as a potential option.
However, the story says that Carroll is Chelsea’s preference in terms of attacking reinforcements this month as Antonio Conte looks to steer the Blues back up the Premier League table.
The west London side are currently fourth in the table after their third successive goalless draw in all competitions – against Leicester on Saturday – allowed Liverpool FC to leapfrog them.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are preparing for the replay of their FA Cup third-round clash against Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
