Steve Caulker was Cardiff City’s match-winner as the Bluebirds were 1-0 winners against Swansea City on Sunday.

The England international, who joined Cardiff from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, scored the Welsh derby’s only goal in the 62nd minute before Michel Vorm received a straight red in the dying moments of the clash.

Here is some of our favourite Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order to the local tie at Cardiff City Stadium.

Former Swansea City striker John Hartson ‏(@JohnHartson10) is loving derby day: “Cardiff recovered well from a quick Swansea start.. All to play for still.. Very competitive typical derby. Good game!

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann (‏@DietmarHamann) reckons Swansea should have been awarded a penalty: “That should have been a penalty. Push by Williams.”

Former Cardiff City forward Michael Chopra (‏@MichaelChopra10) is hoping his old side can do the business: “Go on Cardiff love it #bluebirds”

Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker ‏(@GaryLineker) feels Spurs could do with Cardiff’s match-winner after they sold the centre-half in the summer: “Tottenham could do with a player like Caulker. Strong central defender who scores goals.”

Ex-Norwich City striker Grant Holt ‏(@Grantholt31) reckons Swansea have been shaken by the atmosphere: “Swansea getting beat in the derby atmosphere at this game has looked ledge to be fair.”

More from Lineker ‏(@GaryLineker): “Cardiff are top of the Welsh Premier League.”

Ex-Norwich man Darren Huckerby ‏(@hucks6dh6) is happy for Malky Mackay: “Great result for Cardiff and Malky.”

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey ‏(@aaronramsey) is delighted for his old club: “Great result for Cardiff, it will be buzzing down there tonight #bluebirds”
