Cincinnati Masters 2014: Caroline Wozniacki ‘in a great place right now’
Cincinnati Masters 2014: Caroline Wozniacki is in a "great place" after a straight sets victory over Magdalena Rybarikova
Caroline Wozniacki says that she feels in a “great place” after the 12th seed beat Magdalena Rybarikova to move into the second round at the Western & Southern Open.
The Dane has been steadily improving since a first-round exit at the French Open, winning 15 of her 18 matches and claiming the 22nd WTA title of her career in Istanbul last month.
I just feel so comfortable there [at US Open], and I’ve played really well there in the past, so I’m definitely really excited for it

And Wozniacki continued her impressive form as the former US Open finalist ran out 6-2, 6-3 winner against Rybarikova in Cincinnati.
“I’m in a great place right now,” Wozniacki said.
“I’ve been working really hard. And this is the part of the season I really like. I love playing on grass, and I love the US Open Series.
“It’s definitely part of the season I play well in, and winning in Istanbul a few weeks ago was definitely a confidence boost.”
Wozniacki, who hasn’t reached a Major final since the Flushing Meadows showpiece in 2009, is looking forward to what the 24-year-old feels is traditionally her best Grand Slam.
“The US Open is the Grand Slam I have done the best at,” Wozniacki added.
“I just feel so comfortable there, and I’ve played really well there in the past, so I’m definitely really excited for it.
“I’m in a great place both mentally and physically on the court. It’s an exciting time.”
