Crystal Palace

Julian Speroni Mix up with Ward almost resulted in a goal in first half and had a few other shaky moments. 5/10

Adrian Mariappa Poor marking of Dzeko for first goal, didn’t make a mistake otherwise. 5

Damian Delaney Steady enough but rightly booked for late challenge on Dzeko in the first half. Great block from Toure. 6

Scott Dann Should have picked up Dzeko better alongside Mariappa for the first goal. Improved as first half went on and made a crucial interception on more than one occasion. 6

Joel Ward Could see where the plaudits come from as he matched Milner well and impressed all afternoon. 7

Mile Jedinak Struggled to get control against Toure and Garcia in midfield. Passing a little bit sloppy at times. 5

Joe Ledley Saw plenty of the ball as Palace tried to find way back in to the match. 6

Jason Puncheon Forced a good low save from Hart at start of second half, very lively and tried to force a comeback. Probably Palace’s best attacking player. 7

Yannick Bolasie Struggled to get involved in the first half and struggled to have an impact as Palace saw more of the ball in second. Subbed with 18 to go. 5

Marouane Chamakh Little service and struggled to get involved. Subbed with 20 minutes to go. 5

Cameron Jerome Best work in the first half in his own penalty area in first half, worked hard to have an impact. 5

Manchester City

Joe Hart Commanded his area well when required, saved well from Puncheon. 6

Vincent Kompany The less steady looking of two centre-halves, untroubled in first 25. 6

Martin Demichelis Looked good and composed on and off the ball. First to everything – very impressive at the heart of the Man City defence. 8

Pablo Zabaleta Bombed down the right and almost set up Aguero with a header. Booked for going through back of Chamakh. 7

Aleksandar Kolarov Rarely troubled at the back but didn’t get much of a chance to display his crossing ability. 6

Samir Nasri Wasn’t overly involved first half and picked up a knock but became more involved as second half went on. 6

James Milner Had a challenge up against Ward but most of City’s play came down the right. 6

Javi Garcia Sat in front of the back four and battled well against Jedinak and Ledley – quiet but effective. 7

Yaya Toure (Man of the match) Delivered a superb ball for City opener and brilliant in scoring second City goal. Seemed to be everywhere. Subbed with 25 minutes to go. 9

Sergio Aguero Lively and nippy early on but not as involved as he would have liked, more prominent in second half. Subbed for Jovetic with 13 minutes to go. 6

Edin Dzeko Got in between defenders well for first goal and good header to open the scoring. Struggled to get involved beyond that. 7

Substitutes

Fernandinho Came on and controlled the tempo well. 7
