Fulham winger Damien Duff reveals his delight at signing a new one-year deal which will keep him at Craven Cottage until 2014
Damien Duff has revealed his delight at signing a one-year contract extension to keep the Irish winger at Fulham until the summer of 2014.
The 33-year-old has scored three goals and provided eight assists in 22 Premier League appearances this season, with the midfielder a key part of Martin Jol’s side.
With his future resolved, Duff, who announced his international retirement following Ireland’s disappointing Euro 2012 campaign, is now focusing on helping the Cottagers finish in the top 10.
“I’ve loved my time at Fulham since I joined the club more than three years ago, so I’m really happy that I am going to stay here for a further year,” said Duff.
“With 12 matches remaining this season, a top 10 finish is still possible and would represent another good season for the club as we aim to play in the Barclays Premier League for a 13th consecutive campaign.
“I will always give 100 per cent for the chairman and the club, and I look forward to another season playing at Craven Cottage, which really is a special ground.”
Duff has scored 15 goals in 99 Premier League appearances for Fulham after joining the west London club from Newcastle United in 2009.
