Daniel Sturridge scored Liverpool’s best goal, says Lucas Leiva
Liverpool's Lucas Leiva believes Daniel Sturridge's goal is better than any of Luis Suarez's strikes in a 4-1 win at Anfield

Lucas Leiva believes Daniel Sturridge’s goal was better than all three of Luis Suarez’s strikes in a 4-1 win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The 26-year-old forward scored twice in the space of seven first-half minutes to put the Reds in control at Anfield before sealing a hat-trick with a deadly header from Steven Gerrard’s free-kick.
England international Sturridge cemented the three points with a delicate chip from outside the area after James Morrison had reduced the home side’s lead from the penalty spot.
And Lucas rated Sturridge’s effort as the best of the afternoon, whilst tipping Suarez to become the best player in the world.
“I think Daniel scored the best goal to be honest,” Lucas told Liverpool’s website.
“Luis’s header was a great header and the first goal was typical Luis – the meg and the good finish. But I think overall it was four fantastic goals – three from him and one from Daniel.
“It’s just great to see them linking well and we hope this will continue during the season.
“Luis doesn’t surprise me. People who don’t see him every day are always surprised because they are only able to watch him at the weekend. But we can see him every day in training and we just know how far he can go.
“He’s already one of the best players in the world and hopefully he will be the best in the world soon. He has shown his commitment in every game and his desire to win.
“The way he plays is he tries to help the team – it’s not all about himself.”
