David De Gea’s Man United future revealed – report
Manchester United are increasingly confident that they will be able to keep hold of David De Gea this summer, say reports
Manchester United are “confident” of keeping David De Gea at the club beyond the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Red Devils believe they will be able to keep the Spanish shot-stopper at Old Trafford beyond the summer despite the relentless link with Real Madrid in recent weeks.
The same story claims that the player himself is “happy” with life at Old Trafford under new manager Jose Mourinho.
De Gea has earned a reputation as one of the world’s top goalkeepers since his arrival at the club from Atletico Madrid back in 2011, when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
The goalkeeper came close to joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2015 before the transfer deal fell through at the final hour and he ended up signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the shot-stopper in recent months but according to the latest reports, the Red Devils feel confident they will be able to keep hold of the Spaniard.
Manchester United will compete in the Champions League next season after booking their qualification thanks to their Europa League final win over Ajax last week.
