David Moyes has confirmed that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is set to miss their clash against Swansea in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
The England international was unable to help the Red Devils avoid a demoralising 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on New Year’s Day.

The 28-year-old has been nursing a groin injury throughout the festive period, whilst Robin van Persie remains sidelined with a thigh problem.
And Moyes added that Rooney is also facing a battle to be fit for their Capital One Cup semi-final first leg against Sunderland net week.
“He’s got a groin injury and won’t be available on Sunday. He’s got a chance of facing Sunderland,” said Moyes.
Moyes also remained tight-lipped on whether United could struggle to tie Rooney down to a new deal if the Red Devils miss out on Champions League football.
“We would have to wait and see what [would] happen if that situation arose,” added Moyes.
“But if you looked at his performances you’d have to say he’s certainly playing at his best.”
