David Moyes admits Manchester United must be more consistent to catch Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The Red Devils have only secured back-to-back wins once in the English top-flight this season ahead of their clash against Everton at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The defending champions are nine points behind Arsenal after a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, and Moyes urged the Red Devils to be more consistent.

“A higher level of consistency will be required for us to stay on the coat tails of the team at the top. But we’re more than capable of doing that,” Moyes wrote in his programme notes.

Meanwhile, Roberto Martinez urged Everton to pick up from where they left off on Saturday after an emphatic 4-0 victory over Stoke City at Goodison Park.

“The performance at the weekend was really pleasing and we want to carry on with that momentum, saying that, we’re coming to a really tough place,” Martinez told Sky Sports.

“But we’re excited about it. We need to be ourselves and that’s a really important challenge to show how far we can go this season.”
