Eden Hazard is happy to help Chelsea win ugly
Eden Hazard insists the result is more important than the performance after firing Chelsea to victory over Swansea

Eden Hazard insisted that the result is more important than the performance after his goal fired Chelsea to victory over Swansea City on Boxing Day.
The Belgium international netted the only goal of the game at Stamford Bridge when he drilled in from outside the box in the 29th minute, while Samuel Eto’o missed two good chances to put the game beyond the visitors.

Much has been made of Chelsea’s playing style this season, with Jose Mourinho charged with developing the Blues into a free-flowing attacking side.
But Hazard, 22, stressed that winning games must take priority over anything else.
“In the first half we created a lot of chances,” Hazard told Chelsea’s website.
“If we had scored one or two more goals it would have been easier for us, but the most important thing was the three points so we can continue to stay near the top of the table.
“Swansea played very well. We tried to stay compact defensively and move forward on the counter-attack.
“We tried to find the style. Sometimes we play well, sometimes we play less well but in football you can play badly and still win the game. You just need one goal more, and we did that yesterday.”
Hazard, who netted his ninth goal of the season on Thursday, continued: “It was a very important win for us, but also for the fans. Boxing Day in this country is very special,’ he said.
“I try to score or make assists every game so it was good for me, for the team and for the fans. At this moment I feel good on the pitch, I’m always trying to improve and to give my best to help the team.”
Meanwhile, Blues boss Mourinho expressed his delight at Hazard’s battling display in west London.
“The kid gave everything and his last action in the game was defending in our box the progression of Swansea’s left-back in a situation that was really dangerous,” said Mourinho. “The kid was really tired when I took him off because he played a high intensity game three days ago.”
