Eden Hazard sends message to his Chelsea team-mates
Eden Hazard reflects on a successful season with Chelsea after winning the title under Antonio COnte
Eden Hazard has praised his hard-working Chelsea team-mates after they helped the Blues win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.
The Blues were the Premier League’s top performing side this season as they won the title for the second time in three years.
Conte had a remarkable impact at Stamford Bridge following his appointment as the club’s new manager last summer, as he masterminded a brilliant performance from the Blues in the top flight.
Hazard played a key role in helping Chelsea win the title as he scored 17 goals in all competitions for Conte’s men.
And the Belgian playmaker was delighted by the impact he and his team-mates had this season under their new manager.
Hazard told Chelsea’s website: “It was obviously very important for us to bounce back and become champions again after the disappointment of the previous year.
“I finished the previous season strongly and then had a good European Championships with Belgium, which meant I was able to start well.
“I stayed at the top level this season in almost every game so I’m happy with my own form, but our success was down to all of the players. Everybody has been fantastic. We’ve all been consistent and that’s the reason we’ve done so well.”
The Belgian midfielder was unable to prevent Chelsea from slipping to a 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month, however.
