Eden Hazard sends open message to Chelsea fans about his future
Eden Hazard insists that he is enjoying himself at Chelsea and hasn't thought too much about a move away
Eden Hazard has insisted that he is “enjoying himself” at Chelsea and that he hasn’t thought too much about a possible transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian playmaker has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents since his arrival at Stamford Bridge from French side Lille back in 2012.
Hazard has long been linked with a potential transfer to Real Madrid in recent years but the 26-year-old appears to be happy at the west London club.
And the Belgium international has now spoken out about his future once again as he prepares to return to action for Chelsea in the coming weeks after a lay-off with an ankle injury.
Hazard told HNL: “We will see how much I am worth if I ever get a transfer.
“I didn’t really think about a transfer much. Although maybe it did cross my mind [that I could have joined Barcelona following Neymar’s transfer]. A lot has happened this transfer window. That’s a good thing.
“Every time someone leaves a club, other players could come in to replace them. If it isn’t me, then at least it’s someone else.
“But I am feeling well at Chelsea. I have just started my sixth season here and I am enjoying myself.”
Hazard has not featured for Chelsea so far this season after having suffered a broken ankle while on international duty with Belgium at the start of the summer.
However, the playmaker has been called up by his national team during the international break and made his return to action for Roberto Martinez’s side on Thursday night.
Chelsea return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Leicester City next Saturday as they look to make it three wins on the spin in the top flight.
