Eden Hazard has warned Chelsea about the importance of the Blues getting off to a winning start in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night.

The Blues have made a strong start to the new Premier League season after having suffered a shock 3-2 loss to Burnley in opening game of the campaign at Stamford Bridge back in August.

Chelsea have recorded three straight wins since that loss, after having recorded victories over Tottenham, Everton and Leicester.

Hazard is yet to start a game for Chelsea this season after only having recently returned to action for the west London side following a lengthy lay-off with an ankle injury.

Chelsea have been pitted in the same group as Spanish side Atletico Madrid and the 26-year-old Belgium international has warned the Blues about the importance of claiming three points in front of their home fans on Tuesday night.

Hazard is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “It is very important for us to win our first game at home.

“After Qarabag we play Atletico Madrid away and then both games with Roma so we need to take three points tonight if we want to start well.

“We know that we have just six games to go through to the knock-out stage so we have to be ready from the very first minute.”

Hazard made his first appearance of the season for Chelsea when he came on as a second-half substitute in the Blues’ 2-1 win over Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

However, Antonio Conte revealed on Monday that Hazard would once again be starting on the bench for Chelsea against Qarabag.

Chelsea take on Arsenal in their next Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are in third place in the Premier League table after taking nine points from their first four games.
