England v New Zealand: Chris Robshaw says he is relishing the "biggest challenge" in rugby at Twickenham on Saturday
Chris Robshaw says England are relishing “the biggest challenge” in rugby ahead of their clash against New Zealand on Saturday.
Stuart Lancaster’s men facing the reigning World Cup and Rugby Championship holders at Twickenham fresh from victories over Argentina and Australia.
England secured a memorable 38-21 victory over the All Blacks in last year’s autumn series and came close to winning the Six Nations earlier this year.
But Red Rose captain Robshaw warned England would have to better New Zealand’s desire this weekend if Lancaster’s men want to secure back-to-back wins.
“The squad is in a good place. There’s been no major injuries from Argentina,” said Robshaw.
“We’re looking forward to it. It’s the biggest challenge out there facing New Zealand.
“I don’t think last year will have much bearing on it. Their side has developed and I’m sure they’ll want to kick on.
“We haven’t got to just match that, but better it.”
Robshaw admitted England were fortunate to secure a 31-12 victory over the Pumas last Saturday after a lacklustre second-half performance.
“Credit to them [Argentina], they came out and threw the ball around and really tested us,” he continued.
“On another day, we might not have got away with it – but we did.”
The England captain reserved special praise for try-scorer Billy Twelvetrees.
“We know exactly what Billy can do. He’s been great. It’s great to see him out on the pitch,” he added.
