Mathieu Flamini hailed Arsenal’s fighting spirit after they came from two goals down to earn a point at Everton.

The Toffees took the lead in the 19th minute at Goodison Park when Seamus Coleman headed in Gareth Barry’s cross, before Steven Naismith made it 2-0 with a low finish on the stroke of half-time.

However, the Gunners battled back and Aaron Ramsey tapped home Santi Cazorla’s low cross, before substitute Olivier Giroud headed the winner in stoppage time.

“It was a great performance from the team because being 2-0 down it was not easy for us,” Flamini told Sky Sports.

“There was great spirit today from the boys because we came back in this game, it was not easy.

“Last time we came here and lost 3-0 so it was a great performance today to come back.

“Overall, we came back today and we tried to be strong offensively. It was not easy, the spirit today was great and we didn’t give up until the last minute. It’s a game to remember for us.”
