Mesut Ozil has all the makings of an Arsenal legend, according to former Gunners boss George Graham.

The 25-year-old has come in for criticism in recent weeks following a dip in form after his impressive start to life in the Premier League.

He is one of the most talented players in Europe, but it is going to take him time

The Germany international was substituted at half-time of Arsenal’s Champions League draw at Bayern Munich on Tuesday after picking up a hamstring problem at the Allianz Arena.

And Graham feels that Ozil still needs more time to adapt to the rigours of the English top flight in the coming weeks and months.

“There are a lot famous players that come over to the Premier League and really find the high tempo of the game, the physical side of the game, very, very tough. It takes time to settle in,” Graham told talkSPORT.

“I remember when Dennis Bergkamp came over, even he struggled. He has got talent, there is no question about it.

“He is one of the most talented players in Europe, but it is going to take him time to settle in.”
