Gianfranco Zola looks ahead to Chelsea FC's clash with FC Barcelona in the Champions League next week
Gianfranco Zola is convinced that Chelsea FC have what it takes to beat FC Barcelona and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Blues head to Camp Nou on Wednesday 14 March for the return leg of their crunch Champions League last 16 clash after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last month.
Willian gave Chelsea FC the lead in the first leg, but Lionel Messi struck shortly after to net a crucial away goal for Antonio Conte’s men.
It has been a difficult few weeks for Chelsea FC in terms of their form, with the Blues currently in fifth place in the Premier League table after having lost four of their last five top flight games.
However, Chelsea FC legend Zola seems to think that the west London side will have what it takes to claim a positive result and book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of FC Barcelona.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Zola said: “Of course we know it will be difficult in the Camp Nou, but we have to go there and give it everything.
“We need the fans to get behind the players and show their support.
“Hopefully there will be many fans there and hopefully they will be coming back happy with a win.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as they look to get back into the top four this season.
