Luis, Lineker and more: Twitter reacts as Man City hold Chelsea
Felipe Luis and Gary Lineker both tweet their thoughts as Manchester City hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at The Etihad

Frank Lampard scored against his former club as Manchester City held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Eithad Stadium on Sunday.
Andre Schurrle sent the Blues on their way towards three points when finished from close range in the 71st minute shortly after Pablo Zabaleta was shown a red card.
But Lampard, who spent 13 years at Chelsea and joined City on loan in the summer, netted a dramatic equaliser five minutes from time to earn Manuel Pellegrini’s men a point.
The dramatic contest inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite post-match updates.
England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) reflects on a dramatic day of top-flight action: “This really is one of the craziest days of football I can ever remember. Lampard scores against Chelsea. Bonkers!”
Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) is a happy man: “United self-implode, Spurs choke at home, ‘Super Frank’ stuffs Chelsea….what a perfect day of football!”
Former Stoke defender Danny Higginbotham (@Higginbotham05) outlines his prediction for the final top-flight standings: “This weekend has shown why man city and Chelsea will be first and second. Not for the goals they score but for the little they concede.”
Ex-England cricketer Alec Stewart (@StewieCricket) praises the away support: “Class act from @chelseafc fans as they salute Super Frank Lampard despite him scoring the equaliser for Man City. #respect”
Former Liverpool man Neil Mellor (@NeilMellor33) sings James Milner’s praises: “Pleased for Milner getting man of the match in such a big game. Doesn’t get credit he deserves but you can always trust him out there!!”
Ex-defender Michael Duberry (@Original_Dubes) echoes Stewart’s sentiments: “How good were both @chelseafc and @MCFC fans towards Frank Lampard! #Football”
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann (@DietmarHamann) is also full of praise for Lampard: “If there ever was a case for a player not to celebrate it was today. Funny how these things happen. Great finish too. Well done Frank.”
Jason Euell (@jasoneuell) makes a valid point: “Milner runs off Schurrle = Uproar. Lampard runs off Ivanovic = Nothing said. Double standards? #TrackRunners end of!”
Chelsea’s Filipe Luís (@filipeluis_ urges Jose Mourinho’s men to stay focused after the draw: “Tough game. We have to keep working hard and think about the next one. #CFC”
And that just leaves former England goalkeeper David James (@jamosfoundation) to have the final say: “Mourinho, too pragmatic for love stories in football, ref Lampard, yet reputedly took a pay cut to rejoin Chelsea, because he loves the club”
