Forget Cesc Fàbregas! Ray Parlour wants Arsenal to sign new strikers
Arsenal transfers: Ray Parlour urges Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to sign a striker ahead of Cesc Fàbregas this summer
Ray Parlour has urged Arsene Wenger to forget his pursuit of former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and sign a top striker in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners manager has been linked with a swoop for the Barcelona midfielder, with the Spain international expected to quit Camp Nou this summer.
He was great for the club but forwards should be much more of a priority
Whilst Arsenal already have a host of top midfielders in their ranks, the Gunners have struggled for goals, with Olivier Giroud’s form patchy throughout the campaign.
And former Arsenal midfielder Parlour wants Wenger to spend money on a new striker to match the firepower that rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have in their ranks.
“The problem with Fabregas is where do you put him in the team?” Parlour is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“They have got very similar players to Fabregas – they have Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere – if you bring Fabregas back where do you fit him in?
“He was great for the club but forwards should be much more of a priority.
“You look at Manchester City and Liverpool and they have much better forwards.”
