Lampard keen to see ‘fantastic’ Mourinho return to Chelsea
Frank Lampard openly admits that he would love to see Jose Mourinho return to Chelsea this summer and says he wants to stay

Frank Lampard has openly admitted that he would love to see Jose Mourinho return to Chelsea this summer.
Lampard was one of Chelsea’s key players as the Blues won back-to-back Premier League titles under the Portuguese coach during his reign in west London between 2004 and 2007.
The Real Madrid boss has been heavily linked with a summer return to Stamford Bridge in recent months and is the heavy favourite to succeed interim boss Rafael Benítez in the summer.
And although Lampard concedes that he does not know if there is any truth in the rumours, the England international would be delighted should the 50-year-old return.
“I think it would be a great thing for the club, I think he is a fantastic manager,” Lampard told reporters.
“I’ve seen speculation before and a completely different manager walks through the door so we never know on that front but he is certainly one of the greatest managers, if not the greatest, in world football, so I’m sure the club and the fans will be happy to have him.”
Lampard is out of contract in the summer and is yet to be offered a new deal by the Blues.
And the 34-year-old said that he would like to extend his spell in west London should Mourinho return.
“Yes I would [like to stay if Mourinho returns], but let’s see what happens,” he continued. “I’ve always said I want to spend all my career here. I think everyone knows that.”
Lampard has scored 15 goals for Chelsea in all competitions this season.
