Frank Lampard: This Chelsea star has changed a lot, he’s impressed me

Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Diego Costa for controlling his temper during games for Chelsea this season.

The Spain international has become known for his controversial and fiery nature on the pitch since he joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid back in 2014.

Costa had been linked with a move away from Chelsea last summer but has since been in brilliant form for the Blues under new manager Antonio Conte.

The striker has scored 17 goals and made five assists in the Premier League for Chelsea to help them build a 10-point lead at the top of the table.

And former Chelsea star Lampard has been impressed by the way Costa appears to have kept his temper in check on the pitch this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this month, Lampard said: “Diego Costa’s attitude has been great.

“People will talk about his aggressive side but he has controlled it. If you’re a centre-half playing against him, you know you’ve got a difficult game. And he is scoring regular goals, too.”
