French Open 2015: I’m living on the edge, admits Serena Williams

Serena Williams admits she is keen to find her form after another tough match against Sloane Stephens at the French Open

Serena Williams admitted that she is “living on the edge” at the French Open after coming from a set down to beat American Sloane Stephens.

The world No1 fought back to win 1-6 7-5 6-3 to set up a quarter-final clash with Sara Errani at Roland Garros in Paris.

And the 33-year-old concedes that she is concerned at the number of sets she has dropped at the tournament this year.

“I feel like I’m living on the edge. I’ve got to get off the edge,” she said.

“I don’t like to take chances, but at the same time this is also helping me, I guess, in terms of knowing that I can play a two-hour match.

“And my next opponent is going to be a grind. I’m not just going to blow her off the court. It’s going to be a grind. Hopefully I can play another three matches.”

She continued: “I’m not really happy about my performance. It’s OK to go two tough sets, but to go three sets back to back to back is on the verge of unprofessionalism for me.

“So I’m definitely trying to gauge and see what I can do to fix that problem.”
