French Open 2015: Rafael Nadal pleased with Paris form
Rafael Nadal says he is pleased with his form after reaching the fourth round of the French Open
Rafael Nadal insisted that he is feeling confident in Paris after reaching the fourth round of the French Open on Saturday.
The Spaniard took another step towards a record 10th Roland Garros title with a 6-1 6-3 6-2 third-round victory over Russian Andrey Kuznetsov.
The 28-year-old Nadal will next face American Jack Sock – and he is feeling happy with his current form in the French capital.
“During the first week things were rather OK. I won three matches. I have not lost any set. I think I’m quite consistent,” said Nadal.
“There is no doubt that it was not my worst first week here at Roland Garros, because sometimes I have had quite difficult first weeks here. So this is my thing.
“I have to focus on my match on Monday. I will have to go a notch up and improve my tennis. If I’m ready to make this effort, then I will be able to have more opportunities. Otherwise, I won’t be able to go deeper. This is how it stands.
“I think I have the right foundation for this matchup, for this leap forward for the second week. I think my level is rather good, but then it all depends on the other player. I will have to adapt to his style, but I hope I will be fit so that I’m ready for the second week.”
