Gervinho: My experience at Arsenal was not a failure

Gervinho has insisted that he does not look back at his spell at Arsenal as a failure.

The 26-year-old left the Gunners to move to Roma in the summer after struggling to hold down a regular starting spot in Arsene Wenger’s first team.

It’s just a shame that I could not play any more. But it is not a failure

Gervinho

Gervinho, who netted nine goals in 46 league appearances for Arsenal between 2011 and 2013, has scored six times for the Serie A team so far this term.

But the Ivory coast international insists that he had a “good time” playing for the north London club.

“I think my adventure in London was positive,” Gervinho said.

“I have always dreamed of playing for Arsenal, and I had a good time there.

“It’s just a shame that I could not play any more. But it is not a failure. My qualities work in all leagues, I just need to trust.”

Arsenal travel to Liverpool looking for a win to keep their place at the top of the Premier League on Saturday.
