Harry Redknapp has underlined his desire to continue at Queens Park Rangers – even if the Hoops are relegated from the Premier League.

The west London side are in 19th place and seven points from safety after suffering a 3-2 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Redknapp replaced Mark Hughes in November, and while QPR’s form has notably improved, the 66-year-old has failed to steer the club out of the danger zone, with just seven games left.

But the former Tottenham manager is enjoying working under chairman Tony Fernandes and emphasised his desire to stay at Loftus Road beyond the summer.

“I’ve never discussed it [prospect of relegation],” said Redknapp.

“We’re still positive. We still believe we can get out of it. We’ve never looked or spoken about next year, never.

“We’ve still got a job to do this year. It’s up to the owners and the chairman. I’m happy here. It’s a good club.

“When you come to work every day for nice people, it makes a difference to your life. I’ve no problem here. I’m very happy.

“If he wants me to stay, I’d stay. I really want to stay up for the owners and the fans. I love it here.”

Redknapp also ruled out the possibility of taking charge of England in the future after the FA opted to name Roy Hodgson as Fabio Capello’s successor in April 2012.

“I wouldn’t get offered the England job now. It’s not a possibility for me now,” he added.

“They’ve got a good manager. Roy is going to be there for the foreseeable future. It won’t be something that enters my life. It was part of media speculation, people talking about it last year.

“I don’t sit at home thinking I could have got the job, it’s done. They’ve got a good manager and I’m sure they’ll qualify for the World Cup.”
