Dan Biggar insists he is focused on continuing his excellent form for Ospreys in the wake of talk about a potential Wales recall.

The 23-year-old has been in sparkling form for the ProDirect 12 outfit, racking up 57 points this terms, including 18 points in their recent 38-17 Heineken Cup victory over Treviso.

His impressive displays have inevitably led to talk of interim Wales head coach Rob Howell selecting the fly-half for the forthcoming autumn internationals, but Biggar, who was dropped for his country’s summer tour of Australia, is ignoring the speculation for now.

“I’m just playing as well as I can for the Ospreys,” said Biggar. “It really isn’t in my mind about Wales.”

“It’s about winning games for the Ospreys, which we have been lucky enough to do.”

He added: “I’m enjoying myself and that’s probably taken a little bit of pressure off myself in terms of thinking, ‘I have to play every week to get back in for Wales.

“That’s not in the picture for me at the minute. I’m really just concentrating on the Ospreys. If I get a Wales call, top of the world.

“If that comes then it’s a great achievement and something I will treasure.

“The main thing for me is picking points up for the Ospreys and repaying the faith the Ospreys have shown in me.”
