Man United midfielder opens up about Henrikh Mkhitaryan: He is perfect

Michael Carrick has revealed that he was always backing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to develop into a top player at Manchester United.

The Armenia international joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund last summer but initially struggled to make much of an impact at Old Trafford.

However, the playmaker has been in much improved form for Jose Mourinho’s men since the turn of the year and has earned plenty of praise for his performances in recent weeks.

Veteran midfielder Carrick has revealed that he is a huge admirer of the playmaker and is backing Mkhitaryan to be a big hit at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

Speaking in an interview with Armenpress, Carrick said: “I saw Mhitaryan for the first time during the pre-season training and I immediately thought he will become a perfect player.

“I’ve told this to Ashley Young as well. Mkhitaryan uses both feet, he is fast. He chooses a right position on the pitch. I like his playing style.”

Mkhitaryan will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against West Brom at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the table as they chase a top-four finish in Mourinho’s first season in charge at the club.
