Paul Merson states his prediction for Huddersfield v Tottenham
The Arsenal legend believes Tottenham Hotspur will beat Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon
Paul Merson is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to ease past Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Spurs have won their last two games in all competitions to end the crisis at the north London side.
Tottenham lost to Watford, Liverpool FC and Inter Milan to heap pressure on Mauricio Pochettino and his Spurs squad.
However, the Lilywhites were 2-1 winners against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium to end their losing run.
Spurs came from behind to beat Watford on penalties in the Carabao Cup third round to avoid a potential upset at Wembley.
Former Arsenal star Merson believes Spurs will ease to a victory over Huddersfield at John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.
“I’ve got to go for Tottenham,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“They aren’t pulling up any trees at the moment but I remember what they did when they went up to Huddersfield last season with Harry Kane.
“Huddersfield need to come out and have a go but I think Tottenham will beat them quite easily.”
Spurs are in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point behind Watford, who are occupying the final Champions League qualification spot.
Tottenham failed to sign any new players in the 2018 summer transfer window to prompt criticism of the north London side’s chairman Daniel Levy.
The Lilywhites have qualified for the Champions League in the last three seasons under Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham are ahead of their bitter north London rivals Arsenal on goal difference as Unai Emery looks to rebuild the Gunners.
