Hull City 2 Man United 3: Wayne Rooney believes the Red Devils are starting to show their quality after their win at KC Stadium
Wayne Rooney believes Manchester United are starting to show their quality after 10-man Red Devils came from behind to beat Hull City.
The Tigers made a blistering start to the Boxing Day clash as former United youth graduate James Chester headed the opener in the fourth minute at the KC Stadium.
We had some bad results at the start of the season but we are showing our quality now

David Meyler handed the Tigers a two-goal lead with a low finish past David De Gea but
United were drew level thanks to goals from Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney in a blistering seven-minute period.
United’s comeback was complete when Chester headed Ashley Young’s cross past Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor before Antonio Valencia was sent off with four minutes remaining.
And 28-year-old Rooney, who scored his 150th Premier League goal at The Tigers, believes it could prove to be a “massive result” for the Red Devils in the title race.
“There were a lot of long balls to deal with in the last five minutes but we dug deep and it was a massive result for us,” Rooney told Sky Sports.
“We started poorly today, it was poor defending. The first goal was my fault, I lost my man and we had to come back and score an early goal.”
He added: “That was one of my best goals. I’ve not seen it back but it was a big goal for us. We had some bad results at the start of the season but we are showing our quality now, we are fighting hard and hopefully we can surprise some people now.”
