Ian Wright sends message to Arsenal fans about Alexis Sanchez
The Arsenal legend hits back at Alexis Sanchez's critics after the forward's impressive season
Ian Wright has hit back at Alexis Sanchez’s critics, praising the Arsenal striker for his spirited performances this season.
The Chile international’s future has been a source of relentless speculation throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
Sanchez failed to agree a contract extension during the season, with 12 months remaining on his current deal.
The 28-year-old has been linked with an unthinkable move to Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Serie A champions Juventus have also been suggested as potential destinations.
Sanchez finished the Premier League campaign with 22 goals in 37 Premier League games for the north London club.
The South American’s attitude has been criticised during the season particularly after a reported fallout with Arsene Wenger.
Speaking to the Sun Goals podcast about Sanchez’s situation, former Arsenal striker Wright said:
“I’m not having it. He’s the only one who has done anything, whether he has been a spoilt kid or not. I don’t care.
“He is the only one who is performing.”
