Ian Wright warns Arsenal about 29-year-old’s strong transfer position
The Arsenal legend believes Mesut Ozil has all the power in transfer negotiations with the Gunners and other clubs

Mesut Ozil is strong position to secure a lucrative deal at Arsenal or a new club, Ian Wright has claimed.
The World Cup winner’s current Arsenal contract is set to expire at the end of the 2017-18 season.
The Gunners midfielder hasn’t agreed a contract extension with the north London side despite some impressive performances.
Ozil has less than seven months remaining on his current deal to throw up the possibility of the Arsenal star leaving for nothing next summer.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months, which is hardly surprising given his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is in charge at Old Trafford.
Ozil’s cynics will suggest that his upturn his performance is directly linked to the January transfer window being right around the corner.
The German playmaker has scored four goals and has made five assists in his last 10 games in all competitions.
Former Arsenal striker Wright warned with every man of the match performance, Ozil is garnering more strength ahead of negotiations about his future.
“Every day he doesn’t sign a new contract and he plays so well is putting him in a stronger position,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Whether he stays or go, it will be massively lucrative for him.”
Ozil scored Arsenal’s third goal in a 3-3 draw with Liverpool FC at The Emirates on Friday night.
Arsenal have won three FA Cup titles in the last four seasons but Ozil hasn’t been able to transform the Gunners into Premier League title champions.
