Jurgen Klopp has played down the chances of Liverpool FC completing an unbeaten season in the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit are sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash against Manchester City next weekend.

Liverpool FC were 2-1 winners against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon thanks to late goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane.

The Reds have collected 31 points from their opening 11 Premier League games, winning 10 times and drawing one game.

The 18-time English champions haven’t lost a Premier League game so far this season.

In fact, Liverpool FC have gone 28 games without defeat, stretching back to their 2-1 loss to Manchester City on 3 January.

Their defeat at The Etihad was their only loss in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.

Liverpool FC finished in second place and a point adrift of Manchester City in the title race.

Klopp, though, doesn’t believe Liverpool FC can go unbeaten throughout the current season.

“It is not possible if you play like we did until we conceded the goal. It was not bad, it was actually the opposite, it was good football, but it was not the winning mentality we need,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

“It is probably not possible, but we don’t think about it to be honest. We think about how we can win the next game and the next game.”

Liverpool FC won the Champions League crown last season thanks to a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Madrid final.

The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but have finished in second place on four occasions.

Liverpool FC’s last title success came back in 1990 under their former manager Kenny Dalglish.
