Insider claims Chelsea willing to pay £33m for defender but still want top Premier League star
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims Chelsea want Antonio Rudiger but are still interested in Virgil van Dijk

Chelsea are willing to pay £33m for AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger but the Premier League champions are still hoping to conclude a deal for Southampton star Virgil van Dijk, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News reporter has taken to Twitter to shed light on Chelsea’s latest transfer plans in the summer window in what has been a frustrating spell for Blues boss Antonio Conte.
Chelsea were linked with a move to sign Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, but talk of the 30-year-old moving to Stamford Bridge has started too dwindle over the past week or so.
Southampton’s Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk is thought to be a top target for Conte in the summer transfer window but the Saints don’t want to sell the former Celtic defender.
Now, Chelsea are thought to be ready to target Roma defender Rudiger as the Chelsea boss looks to utilise his knowledge of Serie A.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol revealed on Twitter that Chelsea want Rudiger but the Germany international is only one of a number of targets.
Solhekol wrote: “Roma have been told Chelsea willing to pay £33m for Antonio Rudiger. One of number of centre backs they’re looking at. Van Dijk top target.”
