Insider delivers latest update on Chelsea’s bid to sign top 24-year-old striker
Chelsea are still in the hunt to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to Kaveh Solhekol

Chelsea are still trying to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer but a move is not imminent, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The west London side have been linked with a bid to try and bring the Spain international to Stamford Bridge this summer after the west London side missed out on the chance to sign Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United on Monday.
Morata had been linked with Manchester United throughout the summer transfer window but he is inevitably now being linked with Chelsea as he looks to secure a move to guarantee him regular playing time in the build-up to next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol says Chelsea are still keen to try and land the 24-year-old but the move is not imminent because the forward has flown out to the US with the rest of the Real Madrid squad for their pre-season tour.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday morning, Solhekol said: “Let’s go to the latest now on Alvaro Morata.
“Of course, Chelsea are trying to sign him. The Real Madrid forward is one of their main targets now but a move is not imminent.
“Why? Because Morata has flown with the rest of the Real squad to LA for their pre-season tour of the USA.
“Real Madrid will let him go this summer if they get an £80m offer.
“Zinedine Zidane wants to keep Morata but Real will sell if he tells them he wants to move to Chelsea.”
Chelsea are looking to further bolster their squad ahead of next season as Antonio Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.
