Jack Wilshere has warned Arsenal that Liverpool will improve next season under Brendan Rodgers after the Reds’ title push this term.

Rodgers’ side came close to ending their 24-year wait for a league crown but dropped points against Chelsea and Crystal Palace allowed Manchester City to capitalise and win the title.

Rodgers is doing a great job at Liverpool and he obviously feels he can continue that

However, with the Merseyside outfit having secured their return to the Champions League with their second-place finish, Gunners midfielder Wilshere is expecting the Reds to challenge for honours again next season.

And he also expects Manchester United to respond after a difficult campaign under new manager Louis van Gaal.

“They [United] are obviously sending it out that they’re going to be up for it, and they’re going to come back stronger,” Wilshere told Sky Sports.

“United have gone and got a top manager there and Brendan Rodgers is doing a great job at Liverpool and he obviously feels he can continue that and maybe go one step further next year.

“But I think that happens every year in the Premier League. The game gets faster, it gets harder and tougher, and we have to make sure every year we’re up there.”

The 22-year-old midfielder, who has recently recovered from a foot fracture, also insisted that he is “feeling good” as he gears up for the World Cup with England.

“I’ve been training for a long time now. I’m yet to play a game, but I’ve been training now for six weeks,” he said.

“I’m feeling well. I maybe need a few games, but I’m feeling good. Hopefully I can get some games under my belt before the big kick-off.”
